Dear Mr. Houston: It is indeed a tremendous honor to submit this Letter of Partnership with your agency, Phoenix House, Incorporated.
I understand that you are working toward the inestimable goal of providing transitional housing and life-enhancing skills
for homeless veterans, both men and women. The life and well-being of our nations foot soldiers and sailors touches the core
of what it means to live the American dream -- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
As
I shared with you, I too am a disabled woman veteran and it does my heart proud to hear what you have planned for the soon-to-be
transitioning men and women veterans. It really speaks to the efficacy of your commitment to making life better for others.
Moreover, I too am hoping to begin similar services in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, North Carolina region
which will also meet the transitional needs of homeless women and women with the care of dependent children. In closing, I know that your agency- Phoenix House, Incorporated -- will help these men and women to move forward
toward home ownership, self-determination and increased self-sufficiency. Only the very best will come from your goals and
dreams of reintegrating the homeless back into the fabric of society.
Sincerely yours,
Barbara Summey Marshall
